Terms of Service

The Vaughan Hood Cleaning Pros Terms of Service are the working rules for every hood cleaning job booked through this site or by phone: how a job gets quoted, what the price includes, what the certificate proves, what the kitchen prepares before the crew arrives, and how payment, rescheduling and disputes are handled. The website itself makes no contract. The agreement for a given kitchen is the written quote, and the quote wins whenever it and this page differ. Ontario law governs the work. Last updated: September 2026.

The free walk-through and the written quote

The free walk-through. A no-charge visit before any work is priced. A crew member looks at the canopies, filters, plenum, duct route, access panels, rooftop fan and roof access. Nothing is cleaned and nothing is owed.

What the quote covers. The written quote names each canopy, its filters, the plenum, every duct section to be reached, and the fan. It states one price for that scope and lists separately any item needing its own approval, such as a hinge kit, rooftop grease containment, an access panel or a fan repair. It comes back within 24 hours of the request. Only what is on the quote goes on the invoice.

How long it holds. The quote holds its price for the period printed on it. After that date, or after a change in menu, hours or appliances, call before booking.

The published prices. From $385 per visit for a single-hood kitchen up to ten feet, and from $725 per visit for a multi-hood kitchen of two to four canopies, are starting prices, not an offer for a particular kitchen. Larger systems are quoted on site after a free walk-through. Fan repair and solid-fuel appliances are quoted per job after inspection.

Conditions found on the night. If a section turns out to be corroded, blocked or unsafe, work on it stops and you are contacted. Nothing is added to the invoice without your approval.

The certificate: what it is and what it is not

What it is. A signed health and safety document referencing the published NFPA 96 standard. It states which sections were cleaned and on what date, names any section not reached and why, and carries before-and-after photographs of every cleaned surface.

What it is not. Not a certification of Vaughan Hood Cleaning Pros or its operating crew. Vaughan Hood Cleaning Pros references the published NFPA 96 standard and is not affiliated with NFPA. Not an inspection by the authority having jurisdiction, which in Vaughan is Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service. Not a promise that the premises will pass a fire inspection or a York Region Public Health visit.

What stays with the operator. Cleaning at the right interval is one part of meeting the Ontario Fire Code, which references NFPA 96. Record keeping, suppression maintenance and safe operation between visits stay with the kitchen. The NFPA 96 guide covers the standard.

Site access, safety, scheduling and cancellation

The filter slot along the front of a hood, worked over a covered line.

What the crew does on arrival. The cooking line is covered and the floor beneath the hood is sheeted before any degreaser is sprayed. Proof of WSIB coverage and liability insurance is supplied before work starts.

What the kitchen provides. Entry at the agreed time and a cold line with food put away. Where the fan is in scope and the system requires it, the customer isolates power to the fan at its disconnect or has an electrician do so.

Roof access and the roof key. The fan cannot be cleaned from the kitchen, so the customer arranges roof access and the roof key before the visit. In a plaza the landlord usually has to agree, so start that conversation early.

Scheduling. Visits are booked overnight or between services. A kitchen with a fixed closure should book ahead so the visit falls inside it.

Cancellation and rescheduling. Reasonable notice is expected in both directions. Any cancellation charge is the one printed on the quote and no other. A visit Vaughan Hood Cleaning Pros cannot honour is rebooked at no cost.

Scope, payment, photographs, liability and governing law

In scope. Cleaning of the hood, filters, plenum, duct and exhaust fan. Fan repair and installation, hinge kits and rooftop grease containment when they appear on the quote. The services page describes each.

Out of scope. Building HVAC, air duct cleaning, coil cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, sanitation contracts, grease interceptor pumping, roofing, gas fitting, electrical work, fire suppression servicing and structural duct replacement.

Payment. The invoice matches the quote plus any item approved in writing afterwards. Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing beforehand. The certificate and photographs are released with the invoice.

Photographs. Before-and-after photographs of every cleaned surface belong to the record of the visit and are supplied to you with the certificate. A copy is kept so the certificate can be reissued.

Liability, in plain terms. Pre-existing conditions such as corroded duct or a damaged roof membrane are photographed before work begins. Except where Ontario law does not permit such a limit, liability for any claim arising from a visit is capped at the amount invoiced for that visit. No liability is accepted for loss of trade, the outcome of a third-party inspection, or a condition the customer knew of and did not disclose.

Governing law. These terms and every job under them are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.

Questions. Questions go to 289-217-9880 or the contact page. The privacy policy covers the details you send.

Terms of service: frequently asked questions

Does the certificate mean Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service has passed the kitchen?

The certificate is not an approval from Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service. It records that the exhaust system was cleaned to the referenced standard on a stated date. A fire inspection covers the whole premises.

What happens when the crew finds a duct section that is not on the quote?

The extra section is reported, photographed where possible, and quoted separately. It is not cleaned and billed without approval, and the certificate records it as not reached.

Who is responsible for roof access and the roof key?

The customer. Where the roof cannot be reached on the night, everything reachable from inside is cleaned, the fan is recorded as not reached, and a return visit is booked once access is arranged.

When is payment due?

Payment is due on completion of the visit unless a different arrangement was agreed in writing before the booking.

Does the free walk-through commit the kitchen to booking?

The walk-through commits the kitchen to nothing. The quote that follows arrives within 24 hours and can be accepted, declined or held for the period printed on it.

Ask before you book

A question about scope, roof access or the certificate costs nothing on the phone. The same question discovered on the night costs an overnight window.
